Alissa Wallace is a registered nurse with a graduate certificate in Emergency nursing. Alissa’s strong sense of advocacy and social justice has also led her to further study in Law.
Alissa has spent her entire life in Gippsland, growing up and living in various places throughout the area. She attended school in Warragul, completed her tertiary education in Churchill and now currently works at West Gippsland Hospital, primarily in the emergency department. Other areas of healthcare Alissa has pursued throughout her career includes education, community nursing, aged care and more recently working in the community setting working and assessing people with dementia and cognitive issues.
Alissa’s passion for healthcare – in particular women’s health across Gippsland – led her to become a board member in 2018, and previously held the position of Board Secretary. Alissa’s experience on the board has allowed her to develop her skills in governance, process and understanding the way inwhich a board operates. Being part of the ongoing development and work GWH does makes her proud to be part of such an incredible organisation. Alissa is also a lover of the great outdoors, the ocean and anything to do with sport, her family, friends and travel.
