Kate Johnston-Ataata joined Gippsland Women’s Health in 2025 to lead the Healthy Women Healthy Gippsland Report Card 2025 project.
She brings over 20 years’ experience working in research, knowledge translation, policy, and advocacy in government, academia, and the community sector and has a PhD in Sociology and a Master of International Mental Health. Kate brings an intersectional equity and prevention lens to her work in health and wellbeing system and service improvement and is passionate about centring the lived experience of service users and those who care for them.
While not a Gippsland local, Kate has spent many a summer camping in this beautiful part of the world, and in her spare time enjoys gardening and op-shopping.
