Madeleine Forbes is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian working at Central Gippsland Health (Sale), where she commenced in 2016. Now a senior member of the team, Madeleine spent significant time as the Acting Manager of the Dietetics Department and holds a substantive position specialising in Paediatric nutrition with certification from the Royal Children’s Hospital. Now, as a working mother, Madeleine has upskilled in breastfeeding education to complement her skills with maternal, child and infant nutrition in a clinical setting.
Madeleine enjoys working in health and empowering children and their families to thrive. Madeleine holds a leadership role within the Allied Health Department, and enjoys teaching and supporting new staff, graduates and students within the profession.
Madeleine advocates for gender equality through her leadership roles both professionally and in the community. As a keen sportswoman who plays in mixed, women’s and men’s teams, Madeleine knows first-hand that sporting and other community groups play a pivotal role in shaping views on women from a young age. Madeleine aims to support and inspire female participation in sport, as these groups not only provide physical health outcomes, but increase skill, knowledge and confidence whilst also providing a sense of purpose, connection and community.
Madeleine commenced her volunteer position on the Gippsland Women’s Health Board in April 2021 and is grateful for the opportunity to further her governance experience and promote health and gender equality for the women of Gippsland.
Madeleine lives on a small rural block outside of Stratford with chickens, goats, a thriving vegetable garden, and fruit orchard. At home she grows organic produce and shares both the labour and the fruits of this labour with her young family.
