Sale Office Closure | Media Release 02 March 2023
For 30 years, the Gippsland Women’s Health team have worked to prevent violence against women and promote women’s sexual and reproductive health across Gippsland. For majority of these years, main GWH office has been centrally located in Sale.
For some time now, the face of GWH has changed in line with funding requirements and progression of the organisation. Since the COVID-19 pandemic the GWH team have primarily been working remotely across the region.
GWH is not funded to provide ‘direct service delivery’ to the general public and we are not a crisis response centre.
Our work focuses on:
- Promoting and supporting appropriate and timely access to health services for women; and
- Working collaboratively with our partners and the community to eliminate violence against women and girls.
The GWH Board of Management have taken this opportunity to review our reach across Gippsland, with the aim of providing a more visible presence right across the region.
Over the past 12 – 18 months, we have ensured that there are team members based in each sub-region. Currently, we have staff located in Baw Baw, Latrobe, Wellington, Bass Coast and East Gippsland.
As of 10 March 2023, the primary office space in Sale will no longer be open to the public and our staff based in the Wellington Shire will be co-located in office space with our valued partners Quantum.
Staff in other sub-regions will either work remotely and/or in co-located office space with other partners.
